Senior Linguist:
In addition to the above,
Senior Linguists must:
•
Possess a strong sensitivity to sociolinguistic and
cultural references as a well-educated native
listener and speaker
• Read
all styles and forms whether printed or in
reasonably legible handwriting
• Read
between the lines, follow unpredictable turns of
thought and offer reasoned analysis
• Write
in a variety of prose styles about varied topics
with rare errors
•
Tailor language to fit an audience, persuade, debate
and represent a point of view
Senior Linguists will assist in the quality control
of linguist production services by:
•
Conducting periodic reviews and evaluations of
translated documents
•
Providing comments, corrections and recommendations
for translated material
•
Assisting management in delegating tasks according
to a linguist’s knowledge and abilities
•
Providing a motivating environment; resolving
conflicts quickly and quietly
•
Clarifying expectations of tasks for supported
linguists
•
Communicating effectively and readily sharing
knowledge with others
•
Assisting the Training Specialist in developing
appropriate training aids
The
contract provides strategic Document and Media
Exploitation (DOMEX) support to the Intelligence
Community (IC), Law Enforcement Community and
Department of Defense (DoD) in CONUS and OCONUS
locations.
Mandatory Requirements (All):
Able and willing to live and work in austere
conditions. Have the physical and mental capacity to
function in a high operational tempo and in crisis
situations. Able to communicate effectively
in English, orally and in writing. Experience using
Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint). Experience in word processing, typing,
editing, using office machines. Experience in
data-base processes. Knowledge of U.S.
Intelligence Community. Must be eligible for a full
Secret clearance, or higher, in JPAS in order to be
considered for nomination.
